Southampton isn’t just another dot on the map; it's a place teeming with historical significance. Named after Southampton, England, this Pennsylvania town was recognized as a township as early as 1685. The area was peacefully acquired from the Lenni-Lenape tribe by William Penn, ensuring a harmonious coexistence between the settlers and the natives.
Over the centuries, the town has seen its share of settlers, from the English Quakers fleeing religious persecution to Dutch colonists like the Vandikes and the Vansandts. Their influence can be found in areas like Churchville, named after the North and Southampton Reformed Church erected on Bristol Road. The place also honors its Revolutionary War heroes, with their graves found in the churchyards adjacent to the Southampton Baptist and North and Southampton Reformed Churches.
Farming was the primary occupation for most Southampton residents until the late 19th century when the arrival of the railroad transformed the community. Second Street Pike, which was once a toll road used to carry produce to Philadelphia, became the center of trade. The area saw significant infrastructure improvements over the years, including electricity, telephone lines, and road expansions, embracing modernity while retaining its small-town charm.
Southampton has always been dedicated to education. From the one-room schoolhouses of the 19th century to today's modern facilities, the town has come a long way. For example, the original "Southampton High School" was eventually converted into Shelmire Elementary School, a part of the Centennial School District, which was established in 1953.
In recent years, Upper Southampton Township has seen industrial and developmental growth, aligning with modern amenities without losing its small-town essence. With schools, local businesses, and a community that cares, Southampton is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family.

Guys did a great job RE routing some downspouts to stop water infiltration. Also removed and replaced the leaf guards with upgraded ones. They were very professional and courteous.
