Deep rectangle under the roof edge
Box gutters on the All Pro Gutter Guards chart are a deep rectangular channel. The front wall is flat and taller than the short lip on a European box profile. The bottom is flat, the back flange mounts to the fascia, and the open top sits just below the shingle line. From the street the trough reads as a substantial square band along the eave, closer in weight to a cornice pocket than to a thin molding strip.
How the cut-out reads at curb distance
The product cut-out shows a tall front face, a wide floor, and a back flange. That depth is the first thing you notice when you compare it with the other three drawings on the chart. Light hits a broad vertical plane instead of an ogee or a semicircle. On dark finishes the band looks bold; on white or sandstone it still shows thickness. Corners stay square. Outlets leave a rectangular pocket rather than a round bowl.
Buildings and eaves that take a deeper trough
A 7" box silhouette often appears on larger footprints: wide ranch elevations, commercial-style storefronts adapted as offices, civic buildings with long eaves, and residences with expansive roof planes and long unbroken eaves. It can also suit homes where the fascia is tall enough to hide a deeper channel without looking oversized. Low cottages with skinny fascia can look unbalanced with a deep face; taller fascia absorbs the height more easily. The decision is about street-facing proportion.
Where box sits among the four chart types
- K-style (5" and 6"): molded front, flat floor, smaller nominal widths than the 7" box.
- Half round (6"): semicircular bowl; no flat front wall.
- European box (5" and 6"): rectangular like box gutters, but with a short front lip and smaller chart sizes. Box gutters are the deeper rectangular listing on the same chart.
In short, box gutters are the large rectangular option; European box is the smaller rectangular option; K-style is the molded option; half round is the curved option.
The single chart size and ten colors
The seamless gutter options chart lists box gutters in one size: 7". That size is offered in all 10 colors on the chart: white, almond, sandstone, clay, brown, dark bronze, black, charcoal gray, musket gray, copper. The chart is the authority for size and color.
Practical cues when you compare profiles
Stand back from the elevation and ask whether you want a deep square band, a short square lip, a molding-like K face, or a half cylinder. Check that the fascia height can accept a taller front wall if you lean toward box. Confirm the color against the ten chart swatches. For a free estimate, call (833) 487-0469.
