Located just a stone's throw away from our Willow Grove, PA location, Warminster Township, commonly referred to simply as Warminster, is one of the vibrant communities where All Pro Gutter Guards proudly serves as the number one Gutter Guard contractor. Steeped in history and rich in community spirit, Warminster offers residents and visitors alike a unique blend of old and new.
Warminster was originally part of Southampton Township, which itself was founded in 1682 by William Penn. Officially established in 1711, Warminster was named after a small town in England's county of Wiltshire. Like its English namesake, Warminster, PA has a rich history. It was settled by English and Scotch-Irish colonists following a grant of land received by William Penn from King Charles II.
In its early days, Warminster was the site of the Battle of Crooked Billet during the Revolutionary War. This battle was a major event in American history, but it was a defeat for George Washington’s colonial troops. One of Warminster’s historical gems is Craven Hall, which holds a spot on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The town was also home to William Tennent, an important religious leader and educator.
Agriculture was once the lifeblood of Warminster, giving rise to such innovations as the first model steamboat, designed by John Fitch and Steven Pagano. The model was successfully tried out on the Delaware River. Warminster also played a significant role during World War II when it served as a weapons development and airplane testing facility for the U.S. Navy. Later, the naval site was repurposed for training missions for the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space programs.
Warminster covers an area of 10.2 square miles and is drained by Delaware River tributaries, the Neshaminy Creek, and the Pennypack Creek. Its villages include Warminster Heights, Johnsville, and several others. With a population of 33,603 as of the 2020 U.S. Census, Warminster is a diverse community with a wide array of amenities.
The township is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors. Major corporations headquartered in Warminster include ABB Group, Burpee Seeds, and CRC Industries among others.
Warminster is well-served by emergency services, including the Warminster Fire Department, which is one of the busiest in Bucks County. The township has a range of educational offerings, from public schools in the Centennial School District to parochial and private schools.
Warminster Township boasts 13 parks, offering everything from walking trails to basketball courts. The Warminster Community Park is the largest, featuring over five miles of walking trails. For golfing enthusiasts, Five Ponds Golf Club is the highest-rated public golf course in Bucks County.
